OB TITLE: MHPSS Facilitator TEAM/PROGRAMME: Mental health support for children LOCATION: Amman POST TYPE: National CHILD SAFEGUARDING: Level (3) – the responsibilities of the post may require the post holder to have regular contact with or access to youth or young people in different stages. ROLE PURPOSE: The MHPSS Facilitator will be responsible for facilitating Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) activities for children and parents. The project aims to support children evacuated from Gaza and their caregivers who are currently receiving health services at hospitals in Jordan, through the provision of trauma-informed, child-centered, and family-focused psychosocial support interventions. KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: Work closely with the Project Coordinator and MHPSS technical team to implement HEART, Youth Resilience, and Positive Parenting sessions. Facilitate structured MHPSS group sessions for children (HEART and Youth Resilience) and for caregivers (Positive Parenting) Ensure sessions are delivered in a trauma-informed, child-centered, and culturally sensitive manner. Prepare session plans and required materials in line with approved curricula. Maintain accurate attendance sheets for all sessions and ensure proper documentation using approved templates. Collect pre- and post-assessment tools and support data entry as required. Provide weekly written progress updates to the Project Coordinator. Identify children or caregivers in need of additional psychological or protection support and refer them according to established referral pathways. Ensure that safeguarding standards are always upheld and report any safeguarding concerns immediately according to SCJ procedures. Ensure that all materials and equipment are properly used, documented, and stored securely after each session. Follow up with families as needed to ensure continuity of psychosocial support. Perform any other related tasks assigned by the Project Coordinator to ensure project objectives are achieved.
